Julius Caesar is a very gripping intense show which is worth a watch, the Shakespearean written performance follows a group of ambitious people who conspire against Caesar some are friends to Caesar for example Brutus. I watched the show last year at the Crucible in Sheffield and was a really well constructed play, the actors took time with the text and really gave each line time to settle which I personally think is really important in Shakespeare. One of the main themes in the play is conflict as throughout the play their is conflict between characters, for example the war between Marc Anthony's army and Brutus's army. Pieces of theatre like this is something I am really interested in as I love Shakespeare, the way that William Shakespeare expresses his political views on a stage is phenomenal.

Dirty Work is a  False Entertainment piece of theatre which is a very original piece, where one man and one women walk you through stories of historical events to every day life stories which keep you gripped to the stage from the minute it starts, all choreographed by a lady at the back of them who has an old record player on her knees playing old piano beats. The two actors do a brilliant job in telling a story, making you feel such a contrast of emotions from happy to sad and the lady at the back did a really simple but effective job in keeping your attention on her because as a audience member you didn't realise what she was going to do. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole play and is one of the best pieces of theatre I have seen, it was so smartly performed and wrote. False Entertainment make a crowd feel uncomfortable and make you very aware of what's going on by keeping your attention from start to finish as you don't ever know what's going to happen next.

Performance.

Richard Schechner believed that as humans we perform every day, but there is a theory behind each one, for example when competing in a sport or engaging in intercourse, we all have a certain standard or goal, of which we wish to reach. In the arts he believed that the form of performance was quite latterly putting on a show and performing to an audience. He also believed that we perform in our everyday lives by showing off and going to extreme lengths in order to underline an action to the people watching us. I have found this concept of performance being everywhere and in everything we do, very interesting and I agree with this statement, as I see performance in my self and the people around me. I feel that I perform as soon as I get out of bed, looking in the mirror is a performance.

What is performance to me

"Everybody's Talking About Jamie" is must a see musical, the musical follows a young boy called Jamie who wants to be a drag queen and will do anything to get there. I went and watch the play last year and I was thoroughly entertained throughout, the musical numbers where spot on and all told a story. The song that really engaged with me was the number "He's my boy" as I could relate to that myself, the number told the story of Jamie's single Mum doing whatever it takes to support her boy through life, meaning she will do anything for him because "He's my boy". The energy throughout the musical was something to behold, the dances was really simple and so was the gags, which really worked. The main theme of the musical was love, a single mum doing whatever it takes for her son to live his dreams and doing whatever it takes for that to happen, which I thought really worked and made me feel so emotionally connected to both characters which was...
